Ryszard Stasiński

Professor Ryszard Stasiński graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Poznan University of Technology in 1977, after which he began working at the university in a research and teaching position at the Institute of Electronics. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 1985 before the Council of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Poznan University of Technology, and in 1992, the same Council awarded his habilitation degree. In 2007, the President of the Republic of Poland conferred upon him the title of Professor. From the establishment of the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications in 2006 until the end of 2019, he served as the Head of the Department of Telecommunication Systems and Optoelectronics at this faculty. Furthermore, from 1997 to 2001, he was employed as a professor at Høgskolen i Narvik (Narvik College of Technology) in Norway.

His primary research activity focuses on digital signal processing algorithms: primarily efficient methods for computing Fourier and related transforms, image coding and interpolation, as well as numerous other related topics. He is the author or co-author of over 200 scientific publications, including more than 150 in international journals and conference proceedings. He has delivered 10 invited lectures at foreign universities and at Bell Laboratories, as well as several dozen at domestic universities and institutions.

He was one of the main organizers of a series of international conferences: IWSSIP 1997, 2004, and 2017, PCS 2012, AVSS 2013, and ICSES 2004 and 2014. In 2007, he was also one of the main organizers of the most important European conference in the field of digital signal processing, EUSIPCO 2007.
